A new global development agenda will be agreed at the UN General Assembly this September. It is critical that the international community avoid the shortcomings of the current Millennium Development Goals by anchoring the new framework in human rights.
Rights in Crisis
The current global economic crisis has shown how politics and flawed policies exacerbate poverty, inequality and deprivation. CESR is working to make sure human rights principles are integrated into recovery measures.
The OPERA Framework
CESR is pleased to present the OPERA Framework - a simple yet comprehensive process to analyze the obligation to fulfill economic and social rights. It is complemented by a useful case study entitled 'Assessing fiscal policies from a human rights perspective'.
